What to Expect

Initial Certification (16 hours)

The initial CCW certification class runs across two consecutive Saturdays - the 1st and 2nd Saturday of each month. Class starts at 8:30am at the clubhouse, 1125 Market Street.

The course covers California firearms law, the legal use of force, safe firearms handling, and practical marksmanship. You'll spend time in the classroom and on the range, with hands-on instruction from our certified team. The live-fire qualification portion takes place at the indoor range.

Come prepared for a full day. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Bring your own firearm if you have one, along with ammunition as specified when you register. If you don't own a firearm yet, let us know when you book and we can help make arrangements.

Renewal (8 hours)

Renewal classes are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month and cover updated legal requirements along with a live-fire qualification. If you've been through the initial class, you know the drill.

After the Class

Once you've completed your certification, you'll receive the documentation required to apply for your CCW license through your county sheriff's office. Our certification is accepted by Sutter, Yuba, Colusa, and Sierra counties.
