Just a reminder... the outdoor site is open on Wednesday Afternoons from 4pm to 7pm. While this is being done specially for our hunters to sight in their rifles, anyone can come out and blast away!
Also, we are still doing the Thursday Night centerfire bullseye shoot at 6:30pm, so come on out. |

Mike Overton and Ken Kagehiro were great hosts and teachers this Saturday. The reloading class went off without a hitch. It is highly recommended to anyone interested in shooting, even if they have already been reloading ammo. |

A big thank you to Jim Conn, Troy Lindsey, and K Williams, who did a great job (with help from Ricky Tabios and Brisema Cuevas) on rewiring the lighting for the indoor range. |

Mike Overton and Ken Kagehiro are offering a reloading class on August 7th at the indoor range. This event is free of charge. The class begins at 9am and will run until approximately 1pm. No supplies needed. The class will cover reloading for rifle, pistol, and shotgun.
On a side note, this class is especially important to shooters because it is anybody's guess what will happen when AB 962 goes into effect.
To register, call Mike Overton at (530) 674-2150 and leave a message stating your plan to attend the class, your name, and your phone number. |

The club is offering two new activities for club members:First, Larry Harris is heading up the newly revamped Action Pistol League. The league is dedicated to learning practical shooting and learning the skills necessary to get involved in activities like IDPA. All you need is eye and ear protection, a centerfire pistol and ammo, a holster and mag holders, and a few extra mags. We are meeting on the second Sunday of the month at 2pm at the outdoor range.
Be aware that this means that CMP will now meet on the third Sunday of the month.
Second, Doc Thunen is starting a brand new Centerfire Bullseye League. This league will have a lot of similarity to our Rimfire Bullseye Pistol League. The present plan is to have a 50 round course of fire at ranges from 3 to 15 yards. All you need is eye and ear protection, a centerfire pistol and ammo, a holster and mag holders, and a few extra mags. We will be meeting on Thursday nights at 6:30pm beginning July 22nd. For more information, check out our Information Page.
On an unrelated note, the club is now certified with Colusa County to offer CCW training. This means that we are now eligible to give certification for Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba county. |

The Twin Cities Rod and Gun Club is hosting the Sig Sauer Academy for an armorers course on August 21-22. The curriculum enables law enforcement armorers to develop a pistol maintenance program on the inspection and servicing of the SIG SAUER law enforcement pistols for their departments. Following successful program completion, certification / re-certification to perform these procedures is valid for a period of three (3) years. Download our brochure here. |

Thanks to all of the instructors (John Farnham, Troy Lindsey, K Williams, Larry Jones, Doc Thunen, and Mike Overton) and everyone else who helped out at the Women's Shoot on the 19th. It seemed like everyone had a lot of fun, and the students walked away with a lot of new knowledge. I particularly wanted to thank Larry Harris for cooking some really tasty tri-tip for three dozen people and Pat Arel for handling the sign-ins.
I would also appreciate any photos taken so that we can update our photo album! |
